MEMBERS FIRST, SINCE 2020
Independent and professionally run, so every decision starts with our members. No volunteer board or committee turnover, just an accountable, paid team that shapes every program around what you need.
HAND-PICKED, CERTIFIED PROS
Certified coaches and instructors, chosen for their talent, not just their availability. Every Snow School instructor is CSIA or CASI Level 2 or higher.
We started Ottawa Sports to serve our community better, with top-level instruction and coaching you can count on every single time. We go the extra mile for our staff too, working to be the industry’s top employer and making coaching and instructing a sustainable career. Today that means two streams, one community, and a team that genuinely wants you to get there.
MORE HILLS
Not one home base. Our athletes explore more terrain than any other club in the region, from Ottawa’s west end to the Laurentians, with deluxe motor coach travel on select programs.
SMALLEST GROUPS
Alpine Club groups are never larger than 5:1 and often 3:1. Snow School lessons are private, or 2:1 and 3:1 when you bring a friend at your level. We never pair strangers.

OUR STORY
BUILT BY LISTENING
It all started with a simple vision: make alpine ski racing more fun, more social and more connected. What began as Ottawa Ski Race Camp grew into a full alpine club, and every step since has come from listening to our members.

Ottawa Ski Race Camp becomes Ottawa Sports

Our Snow School opens, after our members asked for lessons

Adult masters racing launches, because our adult members wanted a race program of their own

NICHOLAS HAMMELL
Founder, Ottawa Sports

Nick founded Ottawa Sports at 17, building it on the side while working as a storm-chasing powerline technician, deployed to events like Hurricanes Helene and Milton. By winter 2024, Ottawa Sports had grown enough for him to make it his full-time endeavour.
He especially loves mentoring new instructors as they launch their careers, while developing and challenging veteran instructors and coaches too. Today he leads Ottawa Sports and our sister school, Snowhawks Ottawa, under Alpine Access Corp.
